DESCRIPTION

It is more cost-effective to prevent damage and problems caused by floods than to repair any potential damage, such as destroyed drinking water resources, emissions of harmful substances due to wastewater overflows and damage to buildings.
The Government of Åland must initiate interaction and cooperation that includes good land use planning and concrete protective measures to ensure good protection against the adverse effects of climate change.
The work is synchronised with the proposed measures 1–7 and the proposed measures 24 and 25 relating to groundwater and drinking water.
